Diesel Schools in Houston

A diesel mechanic may work on several types of diesel engines:  truck, bus, marine, railroad, construction, mining and farm.  Diesel mechanics work either for a repair shop or as an in-house mechanic for a large corporation.  Very few diesel mechanics are self-employed.  A diesel mechanic that works in a repair shop is more likely to be involved in diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns than an in-house mechanic who is primarily responsible for maintenance of vehicles.  In either case, a diesel mechanic performs safety checks, performs diagnostic testing using computer technology, replaces parts, follows factory guide lines, operates power tools and uses hand tools.  Many industries that operate diesel equipment have mandatory inspections regulated by government laws.
